my story so far
Hi everyone! I'm Lesley, and I'm a Northern California native - Red Bluff born and raised (go Spartans!), educated at Shasta College and Chico State (majored in Journalism/Public Relations because there wasn't a photography option) and currently living in Redding. I grew up helping my dad with his photography (I was the BEST darkroom assistant and took my job of keeping time and making sure the door was kept closed VERY seriously), and then went on to study photography on my own in high school and college, practicing my own darkroom technique and loving my Pentax film camera. I played with photography and writing with my now defunct blog (life happened) that centered around my vintage finds and pups. I started photographing actual humans in 2013, and I haven't looked back!
Photography is a passion - it moves my soul to create art and document moments that show you for you - be vulnerable in front of my camera, and you won't regret it!
As A Photographer:
Natural Light all the way
the in-between moments are everything
please include your furbabies!
i love exploring new locations
golden hour is just golden & magical - let's chase the light
Business license holder - everything is legit around here
crazy photographer who will have you busting up from my dorky antics and contortionist abilities to get the best angle (I will be your biggest hype-girl, telling you how awesome you are and how great you look!)
who am i?
And just so you know, if you decide I'm the perfect person who gets the pleasure of creating art out of your memories, you'll get to hang out with:
*crazy dog lady (please include your furbabies in your photos - you won't regret it!!!)
*vintage lover and collector (which results in a ton of awesome props for shoots)
*Harry Potter, Supernatural, and Doctor Who fan (Harry, Dean, and the 10th Doctor <3)
*Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor crusher (because I love me some sarcastic Avengers)
*Canadian comedy and music aficionado (Kids In the Hall and Barenaked Ladies are two of my many loves from up north)
*ET is the worst (and still makes me cringe every time I see his wrinkly stupid, stupid face)
*Beatles and Weird Al lifer (True story - I met Weird Al last year thanks to two thoughtful people, and he was the most genuine person)
*Researcher of everything (I'm a journalism major, so I guess that makes sense...)
*Elliptical at the gym + "Friends" on Netflix = relaxation (could only be better if i had wine in my waterbottle)
